Thelma "Cathy" Cathcart, 1918-2002

  Thelma "Cathy" R. Cathcart, 84, of Centerville died Monday, July 22, 2002, at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
  She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Winchendon, Mass., the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Webber) Weston.
  She married Gilbert Brown who was killed at Pearl Harbor. She then married Cliff Cathcart.
  Survivors include a son, Dr. C. H. Cathcart and his wife, Jan, of Lutkin, Texas; three grandchildren, Mindy Flowers and her husband, Charles, Kristie Tyer and her husband, John, and Tony Cathcart and his wife, Dori, all of Lufkin, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kade, Kole, Logan, Blaise, Bransen and Braden.
  She was also preceded in death by her parents.
  She grew up in Massachusetts, served in the Navy and was an x-ray technician at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa and Mercy Medical Center in Centerville for 23 years. She lived in Attica and Centerville.
  Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Vic Bass officiating. Military rites will be held after the service.
  A memorial visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jerome Cemetery.
  A memorial has been established to Mercy Medical Center in her name.
