  The Rev. Billy Inskeep, formerly of Mystic and now of Rockford, Ill., preached at the 10 o'clock service Sunday morning. He was accompanied to Jerome by his wife and by his mother, Mrs. Mable Laurie, of Mystic, and by his sister, Mrs. Iva Frazell, of Connecticut.
  Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sidles and son, John, are spending several days at the parental Peter Sidles home. He has just finished two years work at Harvard University where he received his masters degree in business administration.
  Bruce Clark, Carl Hamm and Donald Ervin left with a group from Centerville Sunday afternoon to attend 4-H camp at Lake Aquaga near Oskaloosa. Mrs. W. R. Hefner returned Sunday, having accompanied a group of 4-H girls there for three days.
  A group of women had a Stanley party at the home of Mrs. Paul Ervin Wednesday evening. Mrs. Gerald Shriver also had a Stanley party Tuesday evening.
  Joan Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Morris, and Darl Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Long of North Bend community, were married in the church Saturday, June 7. They were accompanied by Miss Mary Lou Morris, sister of the bride, and Neal Jones of Plano. They left at once on a short honeymoon trip and will be at home on the Emil Long farm. Mr. and Mrs. Long recently moved to Centerville.
  Miss Coleen Hefner of Des Moines spent the past week at home while her mother was at 4-H camp.
  Mr. and Mrs. Billy Mincks of Cedar Falls spent the week end at the Charley McGavran home.
  Fifteen were present at the MYF meeting Wednesday evening in the church. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Paul Ervin in her home nearby.
  Children's day will be observed Sunday, June 15. It will be at the preaching hour, 10 o'clock, since the Rev. Mr. Gonzalez will be in Council Bluffs attending conference. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Gonzalez and Portia.
  Charley Canfield of Ft. Bayard, N.M., was calling on friends here Thursday. He was visiting relatives in Centerville and calling on childhood acquaintances. 
  Jackie Fry and Frankie Zemo have gone to Davenport where they will be employed. Jackie and Betty Vruble also are employed there since school closed.
  Miss Mary Hawkins, who went to Davenport immediately after school closed to be with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hawkins, also has a job.
  Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Rodasevich and Mrs. Myrtle Erickson of Rock Island, Ill., left here early Sunday morning on a tour through the Ozarks and southwest. They expect to go as far as Monterrey, Mexico.
  Jimmy Joe Beer and John Morris returned Sunday evening from Des Moines where they had attended Boys' State the past week.
  Miss Mary Lou Morris and brother, James, left Monday for Liberal and Satana, Kans., where they will spend some time with their sisters, Mrs. Roy Leaming and Mrs. John Kline, and families.
  Mrs. Ed Inman returned Wednesday from Iowa City. She spent eight days there and had surgery. She is recovering and rapidly improving.
  Mr. and Mrs. Donald Owen are spending a few days here before moving to their new location at Ft. Wayne, Ind.
  Tommy Wilson has returned to Yuma, Ariz., after spending several weeks at home. His aunt, who lives in the west, was here and he accompanied her home.
