R.  Clergyman, born Lares, Puerto Rico, Sept 2, 1900; son of Philip Gonzales and Rosa Torres; educated San Juan High School, San Germain Puerto Rico 1919; Ellsworth College, Iowa Falls, BA 1922; Univ of Iowa, MA 1926, grad work 1926-30; Phi Sigma Iota.  Married Wanda Maria Heninger, June 2, 1928, Iowa City; 1919 came to US; 1925-6, Spanish Instructor, Univ of Kansas, 1930-32 Depauw Univ., Greencastle, Indiana; 1932-38 various occupations, Martinsburg; 1938 - Methodist minister, Mystic; 1918 enlisted Home Guard, Puerto Rico; Appanoose Co. Ministerial Assn; past member AAUP; honorary member Mystic Comm. Club; hobbies - sports, music; office and residence at Mystic.
